I am new to the camcorder scene, as my camcorder as been my camera in video mode. I can’t say enough good things about this little device. Right out of the box I charged for about 4 hours. It auto installed the software and drivers needed to display the program on my computer. The program is Creative Vado Central and after taking a video I plugged into my computer, my computer prompted me for the program and I choose Creative Vado. From there it loaded my video and then I could save to my hard drive, post to my facebook or youtube. The video was so clear and the audio was awesome. The only drawback was in dark areas in which the camera doesn’t do night/dark filming. I loved how I could view the videos, upload and delete from the program. ( I know I can do from my computer as well but this is so simple ! )

I am so impressed. Many of my friends are impressed with the awesome HD quality, and I can’t wait to get a software program so I can edit my videos like I have seen online.

I think this is a awesome device, and my mother is so impressed she is going to buy one this weekend! Easy to use, and great quality. Thanks Amazon! :)

If you are looking to buy a drop-dead simple digital camcorder that even your grandmother can use, look no further. I researched a number of camcorders before settling on this one even though it doesn’t have a great zoom and other fancy bells and whistles. This device does just one thing – records HD video – and does it very well indeed. Another greatly useful feature is that it accepts standard AA batteries. This means you don’t have to lug an extra battery pack and/or a charger like for the other flip models.

Pros:
- Excellent video quality.
- Easy to store and carry (fits nicely in your pocket – it’s just slightly thicker and longer than your average cell phone).
- Light weight
- Minimalist controls. You can’t go wrong with them.
- Easy to connect to your PC via the inbuilt USB plug.
- Fits on a standard tripod to get steady shake free video.
- Easy to transfer videos to your windows PC or mac.

Cons:

My wife purchased this for me for Christmas, and it’s my favorite camera and my favorite camcorder ever. Aside from the video recording mode on various digital cameras, this is the 1st totally solid state video recording device we’ve ever had, and what a pleasant change. Of course it’s really nice to get some HD video for our new 73″ TV, but there are a number of other things about this that make it particularly nice. My presbyopia (the eye condition that starts after middle age that makes you look for sales on reading glasses, and stash a pair everywhere you go or sit so that you can see things within arm’s reach) continues to progress, and is particularly annoying with teensy devices with teensy screens and a dozen teensy identical buttons all arranged in a row. The controls on this device can all be operated with the thumb, and since they’re all shaped differently and placed in a logical fashion, there’s no real need to read the small icons or text. One button (white) takes a still picture, and another button (red) takes video – there’s no mode-changing switch, no selections from the configuration menu, just press the button you want. For such a small device, the screen is a decent size, and it rotates around so that you can frame a shot while being the subject (great for my wife and I who often take a picture of ourselves without someone else to take the picture and without having to carry around a tripod). Though slightly bulky for the pocket, I have, on a few occasions carried it in my front jeans pocket without significant discomfort – better than most of our digital cameras. A small case that attaches to my belt works great, though. I love the grip combined with the swivel screen – much more natural than the typical two-handed operation for standard digital cameras. Initial startup is slightly slower than our 7 megapixel Canon, but I gladly trade that for the other benefits. Proprietary battery needs to be removed to be charged – slightly inconvenient. I was looking for a home camcorder. I have a Canon A620 digital camera and I think excellent (the price was high, but I do not regret), but the prices of camcorders Canons are much higher.
When I got a good bargain from Amazon by Panasonic TM SD10 (U.S. $ 299.00, the price of the common definition camcorders), even knowing the limitations of the model, I decided to buy it. Certainly it is a good camcorder. The daylight does an excellent job. The 16X optical zoom is great, in digital, 80X to work well, then it is a waste (the sharpness is bad).
Low light it loses detail and the colors are washed, but nothing different than most camcorders can do.
The sound is very good, there is the zoom function on the microphone.
To avoid problems, highly recommended to only download the videos to your PC using the HD Writer program that came with the camera (just so you can use it). To convert the file extension m2ts mts AVCHD ts in vob (DVD), mpeg, avi wmv etc., Format Factory is a great free program.
In the end, I believe that the price of U.S. $ 299.00 U.S. $ 350.00 is fair, nothing more.
